The End (for now)

February 4, 2015 § 21 Comments

My file space is shrinking. I can’t continue to post every day. It’s time for a break.

It doesn’t mean that I won’t be back. But three years of posting every day, sometimes more than once a day, has taken its toll. I need some time away to think on things. Find a new creative direction.

I do sincerely thank those of you who have followed me. I loved receiving your likes and comments, and I’ve enjoyed following many of your blogs as well. I hope you won’t give up on me just yet, for I consider this break temporary. Maybe a few days, a few weeks. Maybe longer.

I came across this sign today. The name of my blog (or at least part of it) written on a white board in a lobby. An appropriate transition.

I’ll miss you, my sweet little blog…

Winding Down

Doggie daycare and eight hours of socializing for him.

Writing projects, errands, and an uncomfortable four-mile run in humid 90+ degree temps for me.

The proper way to end our crazy day was to walk through a park. And try to get a decent picture of Eddie.

Variations on a Purple Theme (and the Weekly Snapshot)

Purple appeared today in various forms.

I also wanted to share my daily photos from January 1-7. Some I’ve already posted, others not. As I consider the whole, I’m pleased with unintended themes: blues and whites, cold, and spheres.

Love Your Darlings Again

January 3, 2014 § 2 Comments

Narrowing my favorite non-nature photographs (abstracts, objects) from my 2013 portfolio of daily snapshots that I posted on this blog is a little like “killing my darlings.” Writers profess you need to live by this creed, removing the characters, scenes, dialogue you love if it doesn’t really fit with a story’s overall plot or theme.

There’s a tale behind all 365 pictures, a reason why I took and posted each, so I’ll kill nothing. It’s all in the archive anyway. However, these 21 photos from last year were particularly poignant or beautiful to me, so I’m giving them a second life. May they resonate with you as well.
